Details

3 nights of stargazing (weather permitting) from a reasonably dark site.
You are invited to the RAO to observe next to our research scientists. The darkness will help us key in on distant faint objects and provide opportunities for deep sky viewing. In the sky star clusters, nebulas and the Andromeda Galaxy will be visible as well as planets Mars and Saturn.

Our observing terrace features an array of telescopes operated by University of Calgary astronomers and by members of the Royal Astronomical Society, Calgary Centre, and the TELUS Spark Science Centre.

We’ll have our telescopes operating and astronomers on hand to answer questions. We will kick off the evening with a presentation on what’s up the sky

This is primarily an outdoor event, so bring your binoculars, lawn chair and dress for the weather.

Special Event, July 19, 20, 21

Gates open 10pm to 200am

Admission: Donation to RAO educational programming, cash only
