Announcing a new Meetup for The Charleston Book Club!

What: Holiday Cocktail Party

When: Wednesday, December 8,[masked]:30 PM

Where: Melissa's House
Harbor Woods
James Island, SC 29412

Good morning! Thanks to all for the great response and feedback, it sounds like we are all ready for a good Holiday Throw-down. I know I am!! So, bring on the music, laughter, wine, and let's PARTY at my house! I will open the guest list up for 20, and assume that we'll probably have around 15. After mulling around lots of options, I thought it would be fun, delicious, and relatively easy for all, to have an Italian inspired menu. My only additional request is that you bring your dish in whatever it will be served in, (unless it's a sauce, then I've got it covered), and it need not be fancy! Here's what I've come up with, please email me and let me know which item you'd like to bring.

Antipasti hors d'oeuvres (just ideas but definitely not limited to: prosciutto, salami, Italian cheese, olives, bruschetta, etc.) Need 3 to 4

Italian Sauces - I will prepare several different types of pasta along with one sauce, then we will have a variety of sauces to sample! Assume each sauce should total around 4 cups. I will provide the serving dishes and the heat! Here are some ideas: Pesto, Tomato Basil, Alfredo/cream based, Bolognese/ meat based, Clam sauce, Olive oil/lemon/capers etc., once again don't feel limited (and no, no one expects it to be from scratch unless you're just good like that!). Need 4 to 5

Bread - Garlic or Italian Need 2

Desserts - Think Tiramisu, italian cookies, gelato, cheesecake etc. Need 3 to 4

Wine - Need 4 to 5 (I'll provide some good ole Cavit also!)

Please let me know what you'd like to bring and I'll get back to you so we don't end up with 20 pounds of salami. Looking forward to seeing you all soon.

Mangia! Festeggiamo!!
