Re: [bookclub-1814] February & March Book Choices

Hi Melissa-

My name is Meghan and I signed up for the book club back in August. Unfortunately, with teaching full time and taking graduate courses I have been unable to attend a meeting. I feel badly about this as I really did want to come and I love to read!

I have a bit more free time this semester and I am hoping that it would be ok to begin coming by attending the February meet up? I will look on the meet up site as well to RSVP, but I just wanted to send a personal note to you and apologize for not making it yet!

Hope to see you soon, have a good week!

Sincerely,

Meghan Rife

wvery informative and helpful.  I'm actually going to leave that poll up, as new members join and as additional current members make their way to the poll page, we'll continue to have a snapshot of our collective reading style.

Based on the results of the book category poll, requests from members, and taking into account the most talked about books of late, I have posted the poll for the February and March book choices.  Please take a moment and vote, we'll take the #1 winner for February and the #2 winner for March.

Each of these book choices has been an award winning work of fiction.  Each of these books has received rave reviews from a variety of sources.  Each of these books has been touted as a page turner by critics.  Each is available on kindle, if you prefer, but most are also available at Mr. K's Used Books near Tanger Outlets (they also carry discounted new books available at the same price as Amazon)  These 5 book choices fit into our top 3 category preferences in our poll and some fit into two of the top 3 categories.  Sounds like a recipe for great reads.

Sense of an Ending by Barnes

The Tiger's Wife by Obreht

A Visit from the Goon Squad by Egan

City of Thieves by Benioff

Rules of Civility  by Towles

Looking forward to some great fiction immersion!  Hope to see you soon.

Melissa
