We're excited for the first data visualization show & tell. The meetup will be dedicated to several speakers discussing their visualizations. The inaugural show & tell will be devoted to the DIVVY Data Challenge (https://divvybikes.com/datachallenge). Several individuals submitted data visualizations of DIVVY usage (http://wbezdata.tumblr.com/post/79588560752/first-look-at-some-divvy-data-entries) in Chicago. Five invited guests will present their visualizations, followed by lightening talks for anyone else who submitted visualizations.
We will be joined by five creators of visualizations for the challenge:
• Drew DePriest (http://drewdepriest.com/divvy/)
• Michael Freeman (from Seattle) (http://mkfreeman.github.io/divvy/)
• Shaun Jacobson (http://transitized.com/2014/03/03/divvy-spokes/)
• Gabe Gaster (http://divvy.datasco.pe/)
We will have an excellent opportunity to explore the creative process across projects with a similar mission.
Have a DIVVY visualization you'd like to share? Participants are invited to give a 5-minute lightening talks at the end. If you would like to give a lightening talk, please contact [masked] with the necessary links, slide deck, and materials by Tuesday evening at 9pm.
This event will have an astounding capacity of 150 individuals because of the generosity of the National Association of Realtors.
