What we’re about

Ours is a book club on the old model: a long-term, committed group of women that reads and discusses a variety of books and enjoys great friendships.

We're now several years old, and while people have come and gone, a core group has formed. Our meetings are fun, boisterous affairs where lots of interesting and often diverging views are aired. We laugh a lot.

The books we read span a wide spectrum: fiction, biography, non-fiction, classics, etc. We don't read self-help or how-to books, and we pretty much stay away from chick lit. We gravitate toward well-written books that make you think!

We meet on the second Monday of the month in Lincoln Square (4700 N/2400 W). Our meeting location is convenient to public transportation and has ample parking nearby. Our members are from all over the city. We have very modest dues ($15/year, payable on joining) to pay for our Meetup presence.

Who should join? Women who want to read, have fun and develop friendships. We limit our membership to about 12 and request firm commitment to attending as many meetings as possible and staying in touch. We occasionally have openings, so if you'd like to be a member, please let us know!
