What we're about
Chichester Walkers and Cyclists is now in its 10th. year and since its inception has grown to a membership of nearly 700, with average attendance of 20 - 30 per walk. Members are mostly from West Sussex and Hampshire but are welcomed from any area.
We enjoy a variety of activities now, but our focus remains on walking, cycling and exploring our beautiful part of England. We shall continue to enjoy the occasional music or curry evening, skittles and of course, the Christmas get together and meal. We also have walking weekends away in areas such as The Cotswolds, Peak District and the Brecon Beacons.
Walks and rides are varied, being centred on the South Downs or along the coastal strip. Lengths of walks vary from 5 to 10 miles and usually finish with a pub lunch – for many a highlight of the day. We try to make our outings unique – they are researched by the organisers – rather than being taken from a book. Members are also encouraged to make suggestions and to lead if they are happy to do so.
We aim to post walks for most Sundays, interspersed with bike rides – and members are welcome to come as often as they wish, tell your friends or bring them along as guests, they would always be made welcome.
The fee of £1 per person per event covers the website charges, gps system and first aid kit etc.
Continue to come and enjoy the walks and rides and let's make 2018 another successful year for Chichester Walkers and Cyclists.
