A sacred space in Amsterdam, where our entire schedule is hosted in English, providing a conscious lifestyle hub for expats to meet, connect and share with each other. Mindfulness & Writing ๑ Restorative 6-Week Program Do you feel overwhelmed, stressed out, anxious about the future, or stuck in the past, thinking over and over about painful events that you’ve experienced and unable to move on with your life? Or, do you wish to gain deeper clarity and understanding about a specific issue or phase in your life? If some of this rings true, then this workshop is for you! Through expert guidance and in the safe and supportive environment of a small, intimate and interactive group, you'll get to journey deeply inwards and explore, process and release the obstacles that have been limiting your ability to experience an overall sense of life satisfaction. You’ll be guided through powerful mindfulness techniques and a progression of restorative writing forms that are based on proven research in the field of writing and wellness, and that includes: Expressive writing, Poetic writing, Storytelling, Transactional writing, Manifestation writing, and Legacy writing to help you overcome traumas and emotional challenges that keep you from living in alignment with your highest good. You’ll arrive at the end of the six-week transformative workshop feeling more relaxed, revitalized, inspired, connected and free. Free to be authentically you. Free to come to greater inner peace. And free to come to terms with your own story, regardless of what you may have experienced. No writing or meditation experience is necessary to benefit from this workshop, all you need is a willingness to journey deeply inward. About Susan: Susan J. Nassuna is a Ugandan-Dutch writer and highly experienced trainer in the fields of Writing for Wellness, Stress Management, and Meditation. 1001 Nights ๑ A Candle Lit Restorative Yoga Class In our 1001 Nights Yin Restorative sessions we will create a magical evening to deeply nourish the body and inspire the mind. We will cover the studio floor with mesmerising coconut candle lights from Plant Ahead and fill the space with soft, soothing music. Gently opening and relaxing yoga poses are held for 5 to 10 minutes to help activate the self-restoring ability of the body and support the natural balance of your organ system. Every session we tell one mythical story to inspire the mind and let you drift off as your body unwinds on this magical dream night. Kickboxing Intensive ๑ Kickboxing - Yoga - Breath Work The simplest and best way to relieve stress is to get some exercise! When your heart rate gets going and you are exercising your body releases endorphins. These are your brains “I feel good” neurotransmitters and tells your body to feel amazing. This is also why after exercise many of us often do feel amazing! Endorphins also allow you to sleep better and to just be overall happier. Kickboxing requires you to often focus on a specific body movement, or breathing pattern which is a very similar response you would have when meditating or practicing yoga – activities that are proven to reduce stress. Another benefit, is that kickboxing allows you to forget all of your problems for the time you are training. You will often find yourself becoming completely immersed in your class and forgetting the bad day you might have had before it. In this Kickboxing Intensive we focus on all assets of kickboxing, which includes some yoga stretches and breath work. A great session to restore body & mind! WHAT IS KICKBOXING Kickboxing is a group of stand-up combat sports based on kicking and punching, historically developed from karate mixed with boxing. Kickboxing is practiced for self-defense, general fitness, or as a contact sport. Kickboxing is a fast-paced way to train your body and your mind. In this class you’ll either work with a partner or use punching bags to practice several different self-defense moves. GEAR & EXTRA INFO: We have 16 sets of boxing gloves and shin guards, but if you already own your own you are more than welcome to bring them. This class is suitable for all ability levels, high in intensity and our instructors are specially trained to work with you, regardless of whether you’re a beginner or a pro! Please make sure you arrive at least 10 minutes before the class begins so you have time to put your gear on. This class is on your bare feet, so no need for special shoes. Ecstatic Flow ๑ A Dynamic Yoga And Live Music Practice If you love to sweat and move your down dog to ecstatic tunes, come here! In this class, we guide you through challenging flows and synch your heartbeat and breath to the rhythm of the music. An up-tempo playlist/set and live singing will set the pace to this highly dynamic yoga practice, that not only aims to tone the muscles, but also invites you to maintain a smooth and controlled breath. With some arm balances, core work and inversions, this Hi-Fi yoga class builds on your strength and stamina, whilst maintaining calmness in body and mind throughout the practice. Everyone is welcome to join, but for the sake of flowing and keeping the breath and movement fluid, alignment cues are minimal.
