Details
Come and celebrate with us the one-year anniversary of the Data Science Ireland meetup on Monday the 4th of March at Huckletree D2.ππ
This is the best opportunity to meet & network with like-minded individuals in the Data Science and AI community in Ireland, as well as learn from more great speakers on all things AI and Data Science.
Weβll also have pizza too! π
SPEAKERS
- Niall Haslam, CTO at Axial3D.
AI has been making tremendous strides in computer vision tasks in a number of industries and Belfast-based Axial3D are applying this to semantic image segmentation of medical images. Niall will discuss some of the specific challenges they face in the medical space, the approach they've taken so far and some thoughts on where AI is going in medicine.
- John O'Toole, Research Fellow at the INFANT Centre University College Cork.
Babies born too early are at risk of serious brain damage. Fast medical treatment can avoid or mitigate the effects of this injury. John will speak about how researchers at the AI Award-winning INFANT Centre based in UCC are developing an AI system that keeps a close eye on brain health to help protect this vulnerable population.
- Dr. Luca Longo, Academic at TU Dublin, National Teaching Hero, AI researcher & TEDx speaker.
Luca works in the fields of Artificial Intelligence and Human-Computer Interaction and has the vision to formalise the ill-defined construct of human Mental Workload as a computational concept. Luca will speak about "Defeasible Argumentation: reasoning under uncertainty with partial, vague and contradicting knowledge" at the meetup.
