You are invited to join us at Data Science Ireland Meetup 20 which takes place on Wednesday 6 November from 6pm at the Mason Hayes & Curran Dublin office at Grand Canal Dock

This is the best opportunity to meet & network with like-minded individuals in the Data Science and AI community in Ireland, as well as learn from more great speakers on all things AI and Data Science.

SPEAKERS

  1. Conor McGinn , Assistant Professor at Trinity College Dublin

Title: Stevie The Robot 2.0

Conor will speak about Stevie the Robot and the recent developments from the Robotics and Innovation Lab at Trinity College Dublin. Stevie recently featured on the cover of Time Magazine and Conor will give the low down on all the amazing work they have done over with Stevie over the last few months.

Title: AI and the Law – Myths, the Reality and the EU

AI rich companies are starting to attract a lot of attention from investors and there is a perception in the market that an AI rich company will generate a premium price for founders and investors. Market interest and demand is certainly one interesting facet to this innovative technology. Brian will look at some of the myths surrounding AI in the legal field as well as some of the pioneering work happening at an EU level from an ethics perspective.

Title: Distributed Deep Learning with Keras and TensorFlow on Apache Spark: Yes, you can!

DeepLearning4J is an Open Source distributed framework for Deep Learning on the JVM. It allows importing Python (Keras and TensorFlow) models in order to train them in a distributed fashion on Apache Spark. The talk would walk through the reasons for doing distributed Deep Learning of Python models in a JVM based environment and the details to productionalize this process.
