What is Snowflake? The Cloud Database with the Huge IPO

Snowflake is a fully managed database in the cloud that offers an experience familiar to relational database developers (SQL Server, Oracle, etc.). What isn't familiar are some of its features that are designed to deal with huge datasets and an ability to recall the state of the data from an earlier moment in time. Promises of ending contention on the server for multiple processes seems crazy, but we'll talk about what we know about how it works. This is the database you may start hearing about using at work, and we'll give you a jump start.
