What we're about

The Dwelling Place was established in 1988 by a group of community activists and volunteers who were concerned about the growing number of homeless families in our local community. We support homeless families in Montgomery County, Maryland, in their pursuit of self-sufficiency by providing housing, education, financial and life skills, and career enhancement. We have served homeless parents and children since 1988, providing housing for 20-25 families each year. We help them navigate through a structured two-year program to gain and maintain stable permanent housing.
