Workshop session - all welcome
An opportunity for flute players to play a wide selection of music as part of a group. Although good sight reading is an advantage there are generally easier parts available within most arrangements to accommodate the musically timid. This combined with the cheerful and tolerant attitude of fellow players, and half time coffee should hopefully make for a happy evening of music making. Piccolo, alto and bass flutes are especially welcome. Please bring a music stand and any music that you think may be suitable for the group.

What we're about

A group for flute players of all ages to meet and play a wide range of music together. Players should be ABRSM grade 5 standard and above (although no one is going to ask to see your certificate) and should be competent (or aspire to be) sight readers. There will be no auditions and a minimum of third octave passages in Db. If you play the flute and are weary of waiting to get into an orchestra then this is the group for you. Aspiring amateurs and tolerant professionals are all welcome. There is no tuition offered as part of this group other than the experience of group playing. We also perform regularly at various venues across Edinburgh.

The cost for joining is £8 as a drop in or £75 for a 12 week term.
