Join The Film Geeks as we continue to expand our programming at the Museum of Photographic Arts with a screening of the Preston Sturges screwball classic The Lady Eve.

The plan is to meet up between 6:30 and 7:30pm for dinner at the food trucks (part of Balboa Park After Dark on Fridays) then head inside MOPA at 7:30pm for special pre-show display of close up magic by Jamy Ian Swiss (http://www.honestliar.com) to provide a little insight into the sleight of hand and cheating used by Barbara Stanwyck in The Lady Eve.

According to the post-modern magic duo, Penn & Teller, Jamy Ian Swiss is "James Bond with a deck of cards for a pistol!" An internationally acclaimed sleight-of-hand artist, Swiss has appeared internationally for presenters ranging from Fortune 500 companies to the Smithsonian Institution. His U.S. television appearances include CBS 48 Hours; PBS Nova; The Today Show; and repeat appearances on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. Last year Swiss was seen on screens nationwide in two feature-length documentaries: “An Honest Liar” and “Merchants of Doubt.” And you will get to meet him and be amazed by his skill courtesy of The Film Geeks.

Then we will watch the 1941 film The Lady Eve starring Barbara Stanwyck and Henry Fonda.

You don't want to miss this dazzling night of con artistry.

Tickets are $10 general admission and $5 for MOPA members. Available online (https://www.eventbrite.com/e/the-lady-eve-1941-tickets-26273441571?aff=erelexpmlt) now.
