Walk & Breakfast in Central Park

Details
Come explore Central Park West and the rustic hills beyond ~ Join us in a relaxing morning walk at the park, and then we can stop at the new lakeside café for brunch!

We'll circle around a duck-filled lake, then climb the dirt path through some short low hills in the rustic part of Central Park that few people know about. We'll follow the bridle path (dirt trail) as it travels the perimeter of the equestrian center. Finally, we cross through the landscaped park again as we return to our cars.

Wear comfortable walking shoes (tennis shoes are fine) that you don't mind getting muddy or dusty, wear a light jacket and maybe wear a hat with a brim. You might want to carry a water bottle.

Afterward, if interested, we can stop at the newly opened café which used to be called Alice's for Breakfast. It just reopened under new management, and it's great. The café, now called Kathy May's Lakeview Café, overlooks the lake, and the patio is a great place to enjoy a leisurely brunch. See Kathy May's Lakeview Café menu:

The Shipley Nature Center is located on Goldenwest Street between Central Library and Rio Vista, which are located between Ellis and Slater. Do NOT go to the parking lot of the Park Bench Cafe. The Shipley Nature Center parking lot is across the street.
Please arrive 10 minutes early; we will start walking at 9 am sharp.
