Upcoming events (3)

Stag & Dagger @ Multiple Venue, 29th November

Centre for Contemporary Arts

One of my favourite dates in the year music-wise and I CANNOT wait this year with a few of my favourite acts in the ever delightful Ezra Furman, Shame and Pom Poko. But also really looking forward to seeing Do Nothing, Ghostpoet, Ghum. I envisage lots of clashes, lol. As in past years we will arrange a meeting place closer to the time and hopefully everyone will find someone to chum up with even if we don't all fancy the same thing. Talk Show @ Nice’n’Sleazy

Nice N Sleazy

*** RESCHEDULED DATE: Tues 9th March 2021 *** Tickets still available. All original tickets still valid. "Talk Show are a force of nature." Clash Magazine. A lot can happen in a year. Flash back to the start of 2019 and London 4-piece Talk Show were just beginning to announce themselves as a name to watch with their (now sold-out) debut single for Yala Records , “Fast and Loud.” An intense, raucous outlay of post-punk energy, “Fast and Loud” raced its way through a jagged, dark account of an imagined metropolis, capturing the attention of BBC Radio 6 Music’s Steve Lamacq and BBC Radio 1’s Jack Saunders, as well as a host of tastemaker publications. Follow-up single “Ankle Deep (In A Warm Glass of Water)” then upped the stakes with a one-two punch that married their raw, punk-inspired delivery with melodic, romantic introspection. Fast-forward to Jan 2020 and Talk Show have solidified themselves as a stirring live spectacle, touring throughout the UK and Europe in support of artists including Fontaines D.C., Squid, Fat White Family, Crows, The Murder Capital, Black Country, New Road and Pip Blom. Now, they are ready to present the fruits of a year spent digesting the world around them. Their debut EP “These People” arrives on March 27th via Council Records. They are featured in DIY magazines ‘Class of 2020’, and having seem them a couple of times now, including the Stag and Dagger warm up, I can confirm they are a lot of fun!
