Charles Dickens: Speaking in Pictures

Details
This lecture is a tie-in to an exhibit up at the NYPL about Charles Dickens entitled, "Charles Dickens: The Key to Character", which deals with how "By emphasizing how these characters talk, dress, and move, Dickens was able to impress upon readers clear, easily imagined pictures that have inspired illustrators for nearly two centuries and proven themselves adaptable to dramatists, cinematographers, composers, and even fashion designers. Charles Dickens: The Key to Character celebrates the power of Dickens’s characters to be imagined ever anew, examining important precedents for his art of characterization as well as intersections between his personal life and his literary creations."
So, here's what it says on the website about this particular lecture, "Charles Dickens: Speaking in Pictures": "William Moeck, exhibition curator and Nassau Community College, presents an illustrated lecture that explores Dickens’s ability to craft unforgettable characters."
The FREE talk will be held in the South Court Auditorium of the landmarked "lions" library building. At this point, I don't have information on exactly which floor that auditorium is on, but I'm sure library staff can direct you/us.
How to meet us: We will meet at 5:30pm for this 6pm talk in the presentation room, in the actual seating area, or at least on line waiting to get in. I will be holding my usual hand-scrawled sign reading MEETUP.
