Are you a hacker with a passion for doing the community good? We need you!

This is a co-hosted meetup with the Nodejs Houston (http://www.meetup.com/NodejsHouston/)group in support of Ronald McDonald House Charities Houston (https://www.rmhhouston.org/) as we use our powers to develop an app for the mobile care units which help to provide access to health care where children need it most.

Agenda:
8:00 - Breakfast and Networking
9:00 - Welcome message from RMHC / Event Hosts
9:15 - Breakout into Hacker Groups & Code Workshops
12:30 - Lunch Break
6:30 - Pizza Party…?!? Break & Celebrate!

Meet the RMHC team and learn about the services they offer Houstonians. Enjoy light bites and networking while you work.

RMHC provides sick children what they need the most... their families.

• RMHC supports children and families by delivering programs and services in more than 63 countries and regions.

• In 2014, RMHC impacted the lives of nearly 6 million children and their families around the world.

• Families saved an estimated $700 million in out-of-pocket lodging and meal expenses due to the presence of Ronald McDonald House and Ronald McDonald Family Room programs.

This event is sponsored by Space City JS (http://spacecity.codes/#). All attendees will be eligible for a discount code for the conference. The completed app will be unveiled and launched at the Space City JS Conference on May 14.

FAQ:
Q: I’m not sure I will be able to contribute much, i’m just getting my feet wet and learning this stuff now! Will this hackathon be worth attending?

A: Yes! We will have a few different Code Workshops available throughout the day to give hands on training. Workshops will be catered to the needs of our attendees and the technologies that are relevant for the Hackathon, topics will span from subjects like GIT 101 to Meteor.

Q: Is there anything I should bring to the event?

A: Your Laptop and anything else that might make you rock out some awesome code for a good cause. One way or another, we’ll be building an app to launch to an app store! Join us for the ride.
