HEALTHY, FIT AND ACTIVE NEW MEMBERS ARE ALWAYS VERY WELCOME ...

HAMPSHIRE'S PREMIER WALKING GROUP.

(Accept No Substitutes).

AN AUTHENTIC WALKING GROUP FOR GENUINE WALKERS.

The Hampshire Walking Group is a vibrant, inclusive, friendly and welcoming group of all ages and backgrounds.

The Group is dedicated to walking throughout rural Hampshire and into surrounding counties, Dorset, Wiltshire, Berkshire, Surrey, West Sussex and The Isle of Wight.

As we like to support the rural economy the group always has a short pub visit after each walk.

We have a full programme of day walks all year round together with several Trips Away.

During the past three years we have arranged Trips Away to such places as Dartmoor, Exmoor, Snowdonia, The Brecon Beacons, The Wye Valley, The Shropshire Hills, The Lake District, The Yorkshire Dales, The South Pennines Etc.

No other Hampshire based walking group offers walks or trips away of such quality or quantity.

We welcome committed walkers of all ages, with a youthful outlook, who have an interest in the countryside and who wish to make a positive contribution to The Group. A sense of humour is essential.

The Group welcomes those who are willing to walk in all weathers and at all times of the year. The Group is not a fair weather walking group, please bear this in mind before joining.

The Group is exclusively for responsible adults over eighteen years of age.

Well behaved dogs under appropriate control are welcome on all walks.

There will be a charge of £1.00 per member/guest per day walk. 50p for short/evening walks. This is to cover the cost of running The Group. Members also have the option of paying £10 for one year of unlimited walks. This is payable in January of each year.

The Hampshire Walking Group has a policy of never cancelling walks unless severe weather makes it unsafe. Or if there is excessive heat in Summer. If in any doubt please contact The Organizer or Walk Leader and check the website for any updates.

Walks will not be cancelled because of a bit of rain or wind.

This is an active walking group. Please only join The Group if you are committed to attending walks. Membership will be cancelled for those who do not attend a walk within three months of joining or those that continually sign on and off for events.

Racists, Bigots and their appeasers or apologists are not welcome in The Group and will be banned for life.

Most of our walks are approximately ten/twelve miles long and at a moderately brisk pace so please ensure you are up to this standard before joining The Group.
If you have a tendency to dawdle or cannot walk without the aid of poles then please consider joining a different group ... or start a new one ...
Walking poles or other aids are only acceptable if you have a temporary injury. We don't want to look like a bunch of geriatric invalids !

Please provide an identifiable photo of yourself when applying to join. A photo of a child, a pet or a tree etc is not acceptable and your application will be rejected. If you require anonymity for any reason this group is not for you.

From January 2018 the group will have a strict NO Smoking policy on all walks.

Please note: We are most definitely NOT a Nordic Walking Group.

And please only join The Group if you have your own transport. Do not ask for lifts to walks. Car sharing is encouraged when you become a regular attendee but only if you have your own transport.
