What we're about

We meet on Saturday mornings for a walk of around 6 miles to explore the fantastic Wessex countryside, hence the name of the group. After the walk, many of us like to go for a drink/lunch together.

The name of our group reflects the historical connection between Thomas Hardy and his Wessex novels, but also that we meet throughout the year and in most weathers. (If any aspiring Hardy experts or historical enthusiasts can give us a brief run-down on significant places as we walk round, that is always welcome.)

The group now operates an annual Membership card system. A annual fee (currently £5, Jan to Dec) will be charged when a person attends their second walk.

We have a document that we feel all walkers should be able to agree to. It is on the link below. (It's security is managed by Google, so it should be free of viruses etc.)
