Full Moon Hike: Shell Beach - Pomo Canyon - Red Hill

Moderate hike at moderate pace that is approximately 7 miles with about 1500 elevation gain spread over parts of the trail. Partial there and back and loop. There is a beautiful redwood grove and points where there panoramic views of coast and inland.
We will be stopping on the top of Red Hill and be able to see the sun setting and Super Full Moon. The sun will set at 8:36pm and the moon rise 8:44pm). It will be dark after we leave Red Hill, so about the last 2 miles of the hike will be in the dark, so it's important bring a headlamp or flashlight. It will probably cool down fast, also, so please make prepared for that. Be ready for wind, and/or fog.Heavy fog or thick overcast will cancel this hike.

Santa Rosa: PG&E Substation, River Road Near Highway 101 (near John Ash Restaurant) leaving at 5:00pm

Meet: Shell Beach Parking Lot.

Trail-head depart Time: We will be on the trail promptly at 6:00pm. It is good to arrive a little early so you don’t get left behind.
