Free Crash Course: Intro to Front End Development

Free Crash Course: Intro to Front End Development

Details

What You'll Learn

Front-end web developers use HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to build the web that users see. In this crash course our Front End instructor Eric Sowell (https://www.meetup.com/The-Iron-Yard-Dallas/members/14565188/) will discuss these technologies with the goal of explaining several things. First, each of these has their own unique role in web development, so we'll try to make it clear how each one contributes to building the web. Second, we hope you will come away with a better understanding of what a web developer does and does not do. Third, we hope to give you a better understanding of how the web works. Finally, we'll talk about The Iron Yard and how our front-end engineering course (https://www.theironyard.com/courses/javascript-and-mvc-frameworks.html) can help you become a front-end web developer. Come with your questions or feel free to post them below.

What Do I Need to Bring?

Feel free to bring a laptop! You can still learn a lot without it, but you'll be able to tinker around a bit if you bring one.

Who is this for? Anyone who wants to learn about coding, The Iron Yard, or just more about development in general.

What do I need to know? Nothing in particular.

How do I get to downtown? You can check out some different methods of transportation and get more info on parking downtown here (http://launchdfw.com/2015/09/01/how-to-get-to-downtown-dallas/).
