Stillness and silence are powerful restorative forces and can connect you to a deeper sense of self beyond your concepts and ideas. Meditation cultivates this energy, and group practice magnifies it. This group has been sitting in Lafayette since March 2013. We practice Zen meditation together each Sunday from 9:30am - 11:30am. Anyone with a sincere interest in meditation is welcome, beginners encouraged! We have 30 minute sitting periods, as well as a Dharma share and chanting. We welcome folks of any tradition, whether believers or non-believers. Mediation and Intro to Zen instruction is available upon request. Kent Yugen has practiced Zen meditation for 16 years and is a Dharma holder and Student of Shishin Roshi at the Great Mountain Zen Center at Maitreya Abbey in Berthoud, Colorado. Instruction is available in traditional zazen forms, but this group is non-sectarian and welcomes other compatible practices.
We will have periods of sitting, walking meditation and a Dharma Share. All are welcome from beginners to experienced practitioners. Please let me know if you would be interested in an Introduction to Zen class.
