What we're about

The ‘Lit’ Book Club is for anyone who already loves or is interested in discovering the world of black literature ( literature by black authors or with a focus on African, African-American or Caribbean culture, history, issues, society or experience). However whilst the focus will be on black literature, we are an inclusive group and anyone from all cultural backgrounds that has an interest in exploring black literature is welcome to join.

Each month a book will be selected to be discussed at a monthly book club meeting over coffee and cakes in a laid back and fun cafe setting.

However, whilst at the heart of the group will be a book club, we aspire to be “Lit” and be more than that. From time to time our meetings will support other art forms - theatre, film, talks etc connected to black literature.

Come and join us delve into the world of black literature whilst meeting new friends!
