The London Set is a new social group aimed at those of us in our 30/40s that want to widen our circle of friends. You could be new to the city or (like me) simply enjoy meeting new people, visiting different parts of London and trying something new. This meet-up group will include visits to bars and restaurants, wine tastings, art galleries, quirky events and much more. No need to be shy, just turn up say hi and tick some things off your bucket list!
We live in an amazing city so let’s make the most of it in 2020. Know any hidden gems for our next event? Let me know.
The group has some simple rules so that we can all have an enjoyable evening. Please take the time to read these rules. They may be updated to reflect our events.
In becoming a member of The London Set you agree to:
1] Be polite and respect other members of the group and the organisers. Members are expected to interact with attendees, don't be shy, introduce yourself and let the conversation flow! Please be mindful also that this a friendship group not a singles one. Anyone engaging in anti-social, abusive or any behaviour which the host deems inappropriate will be removed from the group. If this behaviour occurs during the event you will be asked to leave.
2 ] If there are any issues you would like to discuss do send a message to the organiser privately and not post it on the discussion board. Posts on discussion boards will be reviewed and must adhere to rule 1.
3] Any advertising on event pages or at meetup events is prohibited. Please inform the organiser if you do receive spam or inappropriate messages.
4] As with most meet-up groups you must have an easily recognisable, recent photograph of your face on your profile during the lifetime of the group.
5] Group membership numbers may be changed by the organiser at any time. The London Set aims to have regular events and members are expected to be active in the group. Group numbers will be managed for continuous non-attendance. New joiners may not be approved for any reason and/or if our set group size limit has been reached.
6] Please read the event description and any links carefully so that you are clear about the time and location of the event or any likely costs/equipment needed. Check your e-mails and the event page regularly in case there are changes or reminders about the event before attendance.
7] Please try to get to the event on time. If you are running late, please send a private message to the organiser. This is particularly important at events at restaurants or any booked activities. If message is sent within 20 minutes of the start time of an event the member will be treated as a no-show and removed for the group. Members who cancel after the latest RSVP time will also be marked as no-shows, and removed from the group.
8] The Organiser reserves the right to cancel or re-schedule an activity for any reason. In the case of any deposits paid (e.g. restaurant bookings) a refund will be received, unless it is outside of the control of the organiser.
9] Photos will be taken at each of the events for promotion of the meet-up group (within Meetup.com only). If you do not want your photo to be included please kindly step out of group shots if I am taking a photograph.
