Throughout the centuries, saints and mystics have had encounters with the Light and Sound of God. For example, at the Pentecost described in the Christian bible, apostles heard the sound of a rushing wind and saw tongues of flame over each other's heads.

According to Harold Klemp, spiritual leader of Eckankar, "Sometimes the Holy Spirit speaks very directly, and when It speaks in this very direct manner, it's through the Light and Sound of God Itself. The Light and Sound of God is divine love, the Voice of God" (Spiritual Experiences Guidebook (https://www.spiritualexperience.org/), p. 25).

Could it be possible for ordinary human beings in this day and age to share in this experience? Could it be possible for you?

Thousands of people have had their own direct encounters with the Light and Sound, often on a daily basis, though few discuss these experiences in public. Spiritual light can be seen with the eyes open or closed, appearing as a soft glow, a pinpoint of light, a star or globe, or just colours. The Sound is often heard as a high-pitched electrical hum, a single note of a flute, a trickle of flowing water, or even an entire orchestra. The common thread is that there is no physical source for this Light or Sound.

At this ECK Worship Service, you will have the opportunity to participate in a spiritual exercise designed to bring you in touch with this divine Light and Sound. First there will be a short reading, then the group contemplation (HU Song) of about six minutes, and then an open discussion on the topic. Everyone is welcome. Hope you can come!
