What we're about

Hello and welcome to the world's most active English Meetup!

We are also Los Angeles' largest and longest-running English Meetup!

If you'd like to practice what you've learned in your English class, then this is the group for you. Our group's goal is to help you feel more comfortable speaking in English when you're out in the real world.

My name is Signe, and I've been teaching English as a second language for more than twenty years.

As someone who has studied in another country, I know what it's like to live in an unfamiliar place and not know anyone.

With ESL Click's English Conversation Club, you'll have fun and make new friends in the process!

We have free weekly conversation meetings every Tuesday and Saturday for all levels.

This group is for English learners. This is not a language exchange, and we aren't currently looking for volunteers.

Make sure to add the Meetup app to your phone to get alerts if there are any changes to the schedule.

If you would like to know more about me and my classes, please check out http://www.eslclick.com/ .

Thanks and we look forward to meeting you soon!

Free English Conversation Practice Meeting ONLINE!

Location visible to members

This is a free meeting for all of us to meet and talk a little bit in English.

* Until further notice, this meeting will be offered online, using Zoom.

Even if you don't live in Los Angeles, you can still attend this meeting!

Members are put into small groups (in virtual rooms) and can talk about anything they'd like. But if you don't know what to talk about, or need any help, I'm an ESL teacher and will always be nearby.

To join, click on the Zoom link. If that doesn't work, you can copy and paste the link into your browser.

A few rules:
It is very important that you cancel your RSVP if you can't attend a meeting. Members who are often no-shows (signed up but didn't show up) may be removed from the group.

I'm only allowing members into the meeting who sign up and use the same name on Zoom as they do on Meetup. If I don't recognize the name, I won't let the person in.

Please do not ask other members for their personal information as soon as you meet them! If you want to connect with members outside of the group, you might be able to text them through Meetup.

Finally, members must have their camera on during meetings.*
*If you can't show your image because of cultural and/or religious reasons, please contact me, and I'll make an exception.

And it's totally okay if you're late or have to leave early!

All levels welcome!

English Pronunciation Workshop - The "uh" Sound

Online event

$6.00

PLEASE READ THIS CAREFULLY because there is a fee for this class.

Hey Everyone!
Are you a non-native English speaker with a need to communicate more clearly and confidently?
English is not the easiest language to speak, and I'm here to help.
I'm an ESL teacher, and I specialize in assisting students with their pronunciation.
Classes will be $6 for one hour if you use PayPal (Venmo will only be $5!)
All materials that will be provided are free!
This week, we'll be working on the "uh" sound (ex. cup).
It would be a good idea to have some paper and something to write with, but it's not required.
How can you pay? Venmo is the best way if you're in the United States. If you're not in the US, you can use Paypal, but please contact me first because there might be fees.
Once you sign up, please message me your email address. Only members who've given me their email address and paid in advance - at least one hour before the class starts - will be sent an invite.
Please message me if you have any questions.
I look forward to seeing you soon!

Free English Conversation Practice Meeting At The Farmer's Market!

Farmer's Market

We're back for in-person meetings in Los Angeles!

We'll be meeting at the Los Angeles Farmer's Market on the last Sunday of every month.

And we'll be celebrating our return with snacks and beverages! If you'd like to bring something for all the members to enjoy, that's great, but it's not a requirement.

*If you are not in the Los Angeles area, there are many online meetings all month long. Just look at our events page to find a meeting that's best for you.

Members are put into pairs and can talk about anything they'd like. But if you don't know what to talk about, or need any help, I'm an ESL teacher and will always be nearby.

*If you sign up, but your plans change, it's very important that you cancel your RSVP. People who are no-shows might be removed from the group.

All levels welcome!

*Right now, the Farmer's Market is requiring everyone to have a mask, so please bring one or security might ask you to leave.

We will meet on the second floor of the Farmers Market. It's the upstairs eating area, by Gate 2. After you park in the open parking lot, look for the CLOCK TOWER, then the OLD GAS STATION STAND (yellow and red). Go INTO the market area - behind the stand, and immediately turn left. There will be stairs to the second floor on your left.
If you get lost, ask someone how you can get to the second floor near the Brazilian food stand.
You can also message me through the Meetup app if you have any problems.
*If you don't see the map of the market below, let me know!

PARKING: The outside parking lot is free if you get your ticket validated. If you buy anything at the Farmer's Market, you can get your ticket validated. *A few shops might validate you for free.

*Parking is free for 90 minutes. It's $3.00 after that, plus another $1.00 for every 15 minutes afterwards.

*Don't park in the building by The Grove, or you can't get validated!
