What better way to spend your Sunday night than on a beautiful hike with your fellow Los Angeles Polish friends?
Join us on an approximately 4 mile, 700ft elevation hike in the Portuguese Bend Reserve in Rancho Palos Verdes. You'll see beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean and Catalina Island.
Note: This is an upside down hike -we'll start by hiking down and then up. I will be going at a moderate pace, and there are a few steep uphill sections.
Afterwards, we can socialize over delicious pizza and beer at the iconic Lamppost Pizza (http://www.lamppost-backstreet.com/Torrance-Home.html).
Bring water, shoes with good traction (such as running shoes or hiking shoes, no sandals), sun protection and money for the pizza dinner afterwards.
Friendly dogs on leash welcome (note that if you bring a dog you will have to leave it in the car if you want to go have pizza with us afterwards).
Here is a link to the location in Google maps. (https://maps.google.com/maps?q=%092+Park+Pl++Rancho+Palos+Verdes,+CA&hl=en&sll=33.833639,-118.351109&sspn=0.112933,0.220757&hnear=2+Park+Pl,+Rancho+Palos+Verdes,+California+90275&t=m&z=16)
Plenty of free street parking available. We will meet at the main gate to the reserve (you have to walk past Del Cerro Park.) I will be wearing my Polska t-shirt :)
There are no restrooms at the trailhead, but there is a port-a-potty about a half mile into the hike.
Rain of any kind postpones.
