What we're about

The Louisville English and Spanish Conversation Club meet to practice speaking Spanish and/or English. Having problems taking your Language skills to the next level? Join this language club for conversation and fun! The key to improving your language skill is creating a network of native speakers who can help you improve; make new friends while you improve your speaking and listening skills.
All levels of speakers in English and Spanish are welcome to attend. We enjoy meeting in restaurants, libraries, coffee shops etc. For each meet-up, be ready to pair-up with someone to take your language skills to the next level. Bring any study material that you need help with as well as material to help someone in the opposite language. Let’s learn and improve together.
Our sessions are for chatting and meeting each other. Just take a seat, introduce yourself, and start talking. If you can't converse yet and need tutoring, sit with an organizer, we will help you.

Sunday: Free Spanish-English Language Exchange (Zoom)

Needs a location

Details:
Participants will be divided into Zoom breakout rooms of two to six people per "room." The host(s) will try to divide native Spanish and English speakers equally between rooms.

Every 15 minutes, participants will be notified that it is time to change languages. The meeting will last 2½ hours. Attendees are free to leave early, or to request transfer to a different breakout room. Participation is free; there is no charge.

WHEN TO LOG IN

Please log in anytime during the first hour of the event. If you would only like to chat for 2 or 1½ hours, consider logging in a half hour or an hour after the event starts.

Participants logging in during the first 10 - 15 minutes may face "traffic jams" as the host(s) divide dozens of new arrivals into breakout rooms. Participants who have changed their display names (as described below) will be admitted into the event from the "waiting room" and transferred to breakout rooms more quickly.

A host will remain in the 'main room' to greet new arrivals throughout the event.

DISPLAY NAME

Before joining the meeting, please change your Zoom "display name" in Zoom "Settings" to list your native language as your first name. Example: "Timothy MadridESL" could become "English Timothy." This will make it easier to assign participants to breakout rooms.
