NOTES

If you have gardening gloves bring them. Please wear sturdy shoes/boots that you don't mind getting dirty/muddy. this event is on, rain or shine. Please dress for the weather. DIRECTIONS

Please carpool, cycle or take transit! If you carpool, don't forget to reimburse your driver for gas.

DETAILS:

We will:

Meet at 12.30 pm in the parking lot of Burnaby Park (at the Rowing Pavilion). Sign in. At 12:45 pm we will walk along the Pavilion Trail for about 10 minutes to near the Wildlife Rescue Association (Do not park at the Glencarin Trailhead because there isn't much parking there). If you are late, please follow GREEN ARROWS from the Rowing Pavilion parking lot. Please check out the pdf map under "directions" to have an idea where we will be. The Burnaby Lake Park Association will have a tent there. You will need to sign in with them as well for insurance purposes. The Lower Mainland Green Team will split into TWO groups. One group will walk about 20 mins to a site where there will be 250 scotch broom. The other group will remain close to Wildlife Rescue Association to pull ivy. We'll work from around 1 pm - 4 pm (with breaks and refreshments). Based on our numbers, we may finish earlier than expected. At 4 pm we will meet back at the Rowing Pavilion. I will give you some items to take home. Whoever wishes to stay can stay and we will walk around Burnaby Lake and explore. About Burnaby Park

Burnaby Lake is the largest lake in the Lower Mainland and its rich ecology attracts many species including ducks, frogs, geese, beavers and much more. The hiking path around the lake is 10kms.
