Manchester Responsible Business Collective: Fundraising

Details
The Manchester Responsible Business Collective (MRBC) is a long-term programme for professional people who want to do more to make Manchester a fair, inclusive and prosperous city that looks after its own.
From mentoring and trusteeships to fundraising and one-off volunteering, there is so much that Manchester’s professionals and businesses can do to make a genuine impact in our communities.
But change-making programmes don’t just spring up out of nowhere. They have to be started by loud, passionate advocates who know how to effect change.
If you want to build a powerful, sustainable community programme in your office, the MRBC is for you. Turn your aspiration into action with expert advice, workshops, practical materials, and a supportive network of revolutionary individuals making change in your city.
Join us if you’re:
• seeking to create more opportunities for you and your colleagues to help in the community, even if you’ve never organised any community investment before
• a person who has previously organised a community event for the office and wants to do more
• a professional who is currently running community programmes but would like to get more colleagues involved and create more impact
************************* Event 2: Fundraising *************************
What would you need to do to increase your office’s fundraising by 10%, 50% or 200%?
For our second event, we’re focusing on practical ways to promote your fundraising programme in the office.
Despite their extremely tight budgets, Manchester charities manage to reach an incredible amount of people. 6.1 million interventions were made last year by the 3,300+ organisations working in the VCSE sector in Manchester. 66% of these organisations run on less than £10,000 a year.
Every pound raised in the office stretches far across the community. Effectively promoting workplace giving and increasing the amount donated can have a massive impact on charities.
Join us on 1 November to get practical advice from fundraising experts and to discuss:
• how to effectively set up and run Payroll Giving schemes
• creative ideas and practical examples of how to promote your fundraising programme
• choosing charities to support
• what is needed to build a bigger, louder programme which consistently helps more charities
You’ll get to know professionals doing similar work in Manchester and learn practical advice on how to efficiently increase the amount of money donated each year in your office.
The session's speakers are:
– Clare Beavan, Foundation Manager, DWF
– Mandy Young, Corporate Development Manager, STC Payroll Giving
– Mark Game, Founder, The Bread and Butter Thing
NO SALES PITCHES
This meet up is strictly to provide practical advice for professional people who want to see their company do more to help the community. We want to have an open and objective discussion – no sales pitches please!
