O. P. Schnabel Park Mountain Bike (*Intermediate*) 13-15 miles
****This ride is not a beginner ride, its an out-of-shape intermediate ride only stopping when we have to and trying to keep a not so slow of a pace.**** However, if you are a beginner and want to give it a try come on out. We will meet at the YMCA parking lot. We will ride dirt trails. We will ride for about 2 hours. The Usual Stuff: As with any park we mountain bike there are smooth parts and rocky parts and any part that makes you uncomfortable you can walk through it. Make sure you have water (3 liters), sun block, and protect your head by wearing a helmet. If you need to rest then shout out to the group to slow the speed down for a few minutes or to stop. Bring a snack if your energy runs low. I will only be there if there are people who RSVP "YES" by the RSVP deadline.

What we're about

The bicycling will be on mountain bikes in several parks around San Antonio and sometimes out of town. We have beginner, intermediate, and advanced rides. You need a bicycle that is in good working condition and basic safety gear like a helmet and bicycle gloves. The road bike riding will mostly be in the greenways around San Antonio that have pavement. Most of the time I will schedule a road bike ride to replace a mountain bike ride when it rains and the dirt trails have become muddy. Our focus is mountain bike rides. Come out and join us as often as you can. Local Rides are on weekend mornings about 9:30am and during the weekdays they are usually after 6:00pm. Any out of town rides will be during the months of November to February on a weekend. I might occasionally put a book, movie, skating, museum, restaurant, kayaking, or some other topic as a meet-up event on the calendar.

All rides are for adults unless it specifically states that it is a family ride. If anyone signs up for a family ride then parents are expected to attend the family ride with their child so they can supervise and guide their child themselves on the trails. The parent has to come to take care of their own child throughout the ride on the trails. This meetup group is not affiliated with any bicycle shop.

Welcome. Come out and ride as often as you can.
