What we're about

Over the past two years, I have put together a group of diverse individuals including scientists, artists, scuba divers, sailors, environmentalists, photographers, naturalists, and enthusiasts to carry out a series of “Cousteau Style” expeditions. To date, we have been to the Islands of Eleuthera, Abaco, and Bonaire in the Caribbean as well as to Tenerife in the Canary islands and we have trips planned for January, March, and the Summer of 2017. During our trips we live on a 42-foot catamaran or in seaside bungalows, we sail and dive on coral reefs and photograph these environments with high-end underwater cameras. We collect marine species to observe and photograph under microscopes and conduct research on coral reef biology and bleaching. Currently, we are interested in forming a NYC-based meetup group to find others interested in our expeditions and in producing film documentaries that we plan to add as a major component of our adventures. I have developed a number of continuing education courses through the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan aimed at using microscopes for imaging nature and natural phenomena as well as courses focusing on the microbial diversity of the planet.
