Numbers and the River: A New York Perl Technical Meeting

Details

For our first technical meeting of 2018, we return to MongoDB. (Please RSVP before 6:00 pm Tuesday March 27.)

Clive Holloway
"Parsing Phone Numbers with Perl"
A surprisingly non-trivial challenge. Clive assesses the state of the art and reports on why this led him to write his first CPAN module, Number::MuPhone.

Jim Keenan
"Testing the CPAN River Against the Perl 5 Core Distribution: Where Do We Stand?"
At the Perl Conference in Alexandria, Virginia, last June, Jim spoke on "How Do We Assess and Maintain the Health of the Perl 5 Codebase?" In tonight's presentation, Jim will focus on the "Blead Breaks CPAN" problem -- measuring the extent to which changes in the Perl 5 master development branch impact existing CPAN libraries.

Thanks to David Golden and MongoDB for assistance in arranging the venue.
