We are winding down the season, but not before 1 MORE EVENT!
Please join us in October for a roofdeck meetup event in Brooklyn Heights.
Fall is a great time to visit Arlene Stimmel's deck on Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn Heights ("The Mums and Astors are glorious"). She has a nice selection of variegated plants and trees and a comfortable, large, elegant and pretty deck. Her coniferous trees are especially nice, with high grasses and houseplants that will eventually have to be put inside over the winter. The deck has great seating areas to relax and chat.
Food/snacks/drinks always welcome - World Famous Sahadis food emporium is right down the block (excellent middle eastern foods).
STAIRS: There are about 20 stairs to get to Arlenes Apt, then a circular stairway to get to the roofdeck
From the roofdeck, I think you can see the East River and Staten Island.
Come early to Brooklyn Heights and stroll down Henry or Pierrepont sts to see all the beautiful houses, or head to nearby Brooklyn Promenade to view the Manhattan skyline. The entire experience will land you in an interesting and scenic part of the city. If you're traveling by subway, lots of choices--2,3,4,5,R to Borough Hall. Very close to Manhattan, in fact just across the water. If you're driving, it's easy to park . So come and join us.
Note: It might be cool, so bring a jacket
