This is a great deal! Please contact the Shag Organizers if you have questions.
Shag is one of the many forms of Tripple Swing. All have slight variations that make them different enough as to allow different names. Often times the names are interchangeable so don't be surprised if what you call by one name, others call by different names.
Remember that Swing Dancing started long before there was television and each town usually had its own teachers who taught it the way they liked to do it.
If you do any of the Tripple Swing variations, (With the possible exception of West Coast Swing.), you can pick up Shag quickly.
Tripple Swing is defined as having a basic count that goes, 1, 2, three, and, 4, 5 and, 6.
The secondary count, done mostly in Whips, is 1,2, three and four, 5,6, Seven and 8.
As in nearly all dance forms there are many other counts used, but, they aren't usually done by first year dancers.
