Open IoT Project night! Bring your projects and ideas to share!

January 16th 2013 is Internet of Things Open Project night at the Hacker Dojo!

Our December meetup was a success, but there were people who brought projects to share and didn't have a chance to bring them out. We're sorry about that, and we think we have an idea.

We would like to meet each month, alternating between communication-oriented meetups with presentations one month, and open project exchange the next month.

For our second OSIOT meetup we would like to give everyone a chance to bring their Open Source Internet of Things project or idea, and have an open exchange.

We'll have tables set up for demos, wall space to put up printouts and photos, and areas available for breakout meetings. Setup starts at 6:30, with brief introductions at 7:00 and open project exchange until 9:00.

Hardware projects are welcome as well; bring your Arduino or Raspberry Pi based project, or whatever you have. Feel free to bring completed demos, works in progress, live hacking, or your project ideas. We'll have our IoT gateway project on hand: http://iot-toolkit.com

Please let us know as soon as possible if you plan to bring a project or demo, and any particular needs, so we can be sure to accomodate everyone.

See you there!

As requested in the meeting, feel free to join the G+ IoT community so we can post/comment on interesting news/articles: https://plus.google.com/u/1/communities/117894056778399895158

My personal wordpress blog (jenson.org) is dedicated to mobile/IoT topics. I'm willing to host anything we need as a group.

Interesting. Wasn't sure what to expect. Are there minutes from past meetups?

IoT open project night is happening Wednesday the 16th at the Hacker Dojo. Bring your projects to share, demonstrate, or work in progress, and see what others are working on. Here are a couple of projects you can see:

Android gateway that integrates multiple IoT data sources.

[The project is a gateway on an Android platform to various sensor cloud services to save and group feed configurations, retrieve sensor data and provide this info to an application using a CRUD provider on the Android platform. The idea is to isolate the application from having to deal with the various services' REST interfaces and normalize the data]

    Good Night Lamp

[A family of internet-connected lamps, it’s comprised of a Big Lamp and a network number of Little Lamps wirelessly connected to it. A Big Lamp, when turned on, triggers the Little Lamps around the world to switch on too.]

There will be other inventors and developers there with their projects, and more are welcome. Drop in OK!
