40 years old. Atheist since about 1990. Before that I never thought too much about religion anyway (i.e., it was never important to me). Outside of science and philosophy, I enjoy a wide variety of activities-- hiking/nature, sports, movies, museums. The nature/hiking and museums probably have been influenced by my non-belief, or maybe it was the other way around. One of the fun things to think about.
I'm always looking for good book recommendations, and I greatly enjoy good discussions with reasonable people, no matter the similarities of our views. Not knowing anyone in Irvine outside of work (where everyone is religious) and family, it would be good to hear others' views on their non-belief and how it shapes their world view, and how it has affected their lives. Also, having a young child, I'd be interested in others' opinions on raising kids and letting them develop their own philosophy; providing guidance without forcing views on them.
I acknowledge this, thank you.
Hello, I'm Raj. I almost always enjoy learning about others' views on science, philosophy, and life without religion. We moved to Irvine 4 months ago, and it would be nice to have a good discussion of that sort regularly.
