Nethercutt Museum - Hike - Lunch

Details
UPDATE - 09/23/16
Hike/Museum/Lunch - you may do one, two, or all three!
The Hike: 7:30am
Given the time of the tour at the museum and our lunch plan afterwards, the hike will be early. You may skip it and go straight to the museum portion of the event.
For those who want to have a workout early, we will meet at the Wilson Canyon Park at 14450 Olive View Drive, Sylmar, a short 3 mile drive from the museum, at 7:30 am. It is a moderate hike and should take approximately 1 1/2 hr to complete which allows us enough time to be at the museum tour on time. Here is the description of the park via LA Mountain:
Nestled in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains above the northeastern San Fernando Valley community of Sylmar, 240-acre Wilson Canyon Park offers visitors secluded wilderness, a network of easy-to-moderate trails, a rich variety of plant communities, and abundant wildlife within minutes of a densely populated urban area. Popular with hikers, equestrians, mountain bikers, bird watchers, and families on picnics, Wilson Canyon Park features verdant oak woodlands, a year-round creek lined with native alders, sycamores, and bigleaf maple, and commanding vistas. Easily accessible from the 210 Freeway, and with ample parking, Wilson Canyon Park serves as a popular portal into the adjacent Angeles National Forest and its extensive network of trails.
Directions to hike: Take the I-5 Freeway North to the 210 Freeway East and exit Roxford St. Turn left onto Roxford with after .1 miles it turns right and changes to Olive View Dr. Continue on Olive View for another .9 miles to a stop sign at the intersection with Bledsoe St. Continue straight on Olive View for another .2 miles and the entrance to Wilson Canyon Park will be on you left. Drive .3 mile up a winding road to an interection where you can turn either left or right, turn LEFT and drive .2 miles and park on the left side of the parking area.
