Let's plan for a potenial meeting soon
To all members, Hello everyone, I have had many requests to arrange for a meeting. I would like to do so but It is not easy to get everyone together. I would like to ask each and everyone of you who is interested to attend to suggest a potential meeting date and time. We can always either meet at my office or wherever is more comfortable to you. I would also like to ask everyone to email me directly your cell number so i could contact you. It will not work if there is no team effort. Let' make this happen. Last time we had five people signed in and 2 people showed up which was still a productive meeting. I am thinking 2 weeks from now on Saturday[masked] should be a good day. what do you think. many thanks Nazee

What we're about

This is a group for peer support of those with fibromyalgia or chronic fatigue syndrome and their family members. Mike, the organizer, has been dealing with fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue for over ten years, and hopes he can be of service to other people with these conditions. People with chronic pain can find meaning and hope in life by turning their situation into a chance to help other people.

Mike feels that coping with chronic pain requires a combination of skills. Pain must be gently acknowledged and attended to with care. People can feel their load is lightened by sharing their difficult experience with others and having it simply accepted. That is one valuable function of this group. Also, people with chronic pain need to bring positive states of mind into their lives, like lovingkindness (a term from Buddhism) and compassion. These mind-states can be deliberately cultivated through practice. Mike also thinks that laughing is great medicine, and his favorite way to laugh is to find videos on you-tube of laughing babies. There is pure joy in the laugh of a baby.
