• IFP Phoenix Monthly Movie Meeting - November
    Wednesday, November 7th, 2018 from 7pm- 9pm Monthly Movie Meeting takes place on the first Wednesday of the month, per usual. As always, there are two ways to participate: Sign up to screen a short film or part of a feature Attend the meeting and offer peer feedback to the filmmakers screening their works ***Monthly Movie Meeting has already filled its screening slots for November. However, we still need people to submit for December and we need people in the audience to give filmmakers feedback!*** Participants who want to have their work screened should sign up at the link and bring with them a short film or a scene from a work on any topic and be ready to engage in interactive Q&A session following the screening of their work. Our host will get back to you and let you know if we are able to get you in this month or a future month. Not ready to screen anything? We still need people in attendance to help give peer feedback. This event only works with participation and it's a valuable learning tool even for audience members.   • Industry Night at the Peoria Film Fest
    Industry Night at the Peoria Film Fest takes place on Saturday, October 20th from 6:00pm-Midnight. If you've been to Industry Night at the Phoenix Film Festival, you know this will not be a night to miss. Meet new filmmakers, celebrate film with those you know, and just have a good time. The night will take place in the Party Pavilion in the same lot as the Harkins Arrowhead Theatres off 83rd Ave south of Bell Road. Attendance is free to all! We will have a cash bar serving wine and beer. A light musical playlist will set the tone while keeping networking at the forefront. We will even have up to a dozen vendors on hand with table space talking about their film related services and goods. If you have a film, project, or film related company or organization you want to promote, you can be an exhibitor at one of the best celebrations of film in Arizona.   • IFP Phoenix Presents: How I Made It
    Join us Wednesday, October 10th 2018 at 7:00pm for "How I Made It" Located at Harkins Scottsdale 101! FROM SCRIPT TO SCREEN How I Made It is a new quarterly series from the Phoenix Film Foundation and IFP Phoenix that will show audiences how a filmmaker gets from an idea to a finished product.We will take a deep dive into their inspiration, preparation, and execution of the filmmaking process. You'll get to see materials they used to plan the film. They'll talk about the choices they had to make and the reasons they made them. They'll even pull the curtain back on challenges they faced and how they handled them. The night will culminate with a viewing of the short film, as well as a Q&A session with the director so you can ask things you want to know about the process! Up first is Sean Oliver and his film, Natural Promotion. A short film backed by the music of Danny Elfman about a down trodden worker who transforms and discovers his true purpose. In 2017 Oliver's short film NATURAL PROMOTION was selected as a winner for the RABBIT & ROGUE FILM CHALLENGE, and was screened at the LA FILM FESTIVAL in front of Elfman himself and judges GUS VAN SANT and ROB MINKOFF. MEET SEAN OLIVER Sean Oliver is an award winning filmmaker based out of Arizona. PHOENIX MAGAZINE named Oliver one of their 40 Under 40 in 2018 for his unique storytelling. Growing up in the early age of computers and consumer cameras allowed him to cultivate a lifelong passion for making movies. Oliver cut his teeth as creator/writer on the celebrated web series Lucidity: The Web Saga, and has since won dozens of awards at various film festivals and film challenges.   • IFP Phoenix 48 hour Beat the Clock Film Challenge
    The[masked] hour Beat the Clock Film Challenge is now open for registration!! What is it? The best (and most hectic) 48 hours of your life! We will give you a prop and line on Friday at our kick off event. You and your team then have two days to write, shoot, edit, and generally go crazy with filmmaking! What do you submit? Each team will submit a film, no longer than 5 minutes (including credits), created using the line and prop guidelines provided at the kick off...including a guideline from the all new "Wheel of Death!" Okay, so it's not that dramatic, but you're going to spin a wheel for an additional fun component to your film! Teams may also submit a trailer and a poster for additional prizes. Why register? -The first prize film will win $250.
