New Meetup: The Ten Commitments: Conversations with God

From: Diane
Sent on: Thursday, April 29, 2010 5:28 PM
Announcing a new Meetup for The Pittsburgh Metaphysics Meetup Group!

What: The Ten Commitments: Conversations with God

When: Monday, May 10,[masked]:00 PM

David and Mia's Place
6215 Monitor St
Pittsburgh, PA 15217

The snow is long gone and I've finally put this back on the calendar. I hope you'll join us for a lively discussion.

Please note: People have expressed some reluctance to attend this meeting because they haven't read the books. This is intended as a discussion of the ideas in the book and all are welcome. It is not necessary to have read the books to appreciate and participate in the discussion.

Though the title, Conversations With God, may seem daunting or even pretentious at first glance, it is a totally accurate summation of the material in this book. What the title may not convey is the comfort, joy, understanding, and love that are expressed in a very personal way by the Divine Spirit.

In this meeting, we will work with the "Ten Commitments". These are what became, over time, editing, and translation, the ten commandments. In the book, God explains that these are the signs, indications and changes within yourself that will tell you when you have taken the path to God and you will know that you have found God.

It's a fascinating take on a very old subject. Don't worry if you haven't read the book and/or don't have access to it. I will bring handouts of the Commitments for you to work with.

I'm looking forward to another enlightening discussion.

Light refreshments will be served.

Minimum suggested donation: $5 (to cover costs)

About the discussion leader, Diane Rhodes:

"I consider myself a spiritual seeker. Looking back, I can clearly see the stages of my spiritual journey; from the occasional Sunday school classes that left me with more questions than answers, and more doubts than faith, to a brief but intense foray into evangelical Christianity, to a lonely, scary limbo full of self-doubt, to shaky hope that there was some sense and order to the Universe that I could believe in, to last year when I emerged from my solitary musings to attend the first Law of Attraction class at David and Mia's. It has been a year of wondrous growth and expansion and now I would like to share with you the material that was my first foray into the spiritual realm. For the first time, I was presented with a concept of Divinity that I could embrace and believe in. I had found a God whom I could trust. Now, some 13 plus years later, I am revisiting this material and finding a wealth of new and wonderful insights and understanding. "

"Most of us have heard it said that when the student is ready, the teacher will appear. This book was my first teacher; opening up realms of thought and wonder that I had nearly given up on ever finding. This is what I would like to share with you"
