The Rebel Pedals was started by Ian K. avid two wheeler, with or without engines, seeking anyone with similar interest. Since Rebel Pedal's conception in January 2017 membership grew from strength to strength with a number of regular members who go out cycling during weekdays (on days off or after work, shift workers etc), and then regular weekend cycles became a necessity - need to feel those muscles burn!
Our activities then expanded to include various weekends away within Ireland, trips abroad, cycle challenges with charity fund raising, and sportive cycles (Fort to Fort, Ring of Kerry, Dublin Bike Ride, Wild Atlantic Mizen Cycle & etc...) , Adventure Races and even Hillwalking - basically any outdoor and curious activities, we are game for it!
We have a very friendly team of Event Organizers and Hosts who work well together. We organise 4 types of events: Roadrunners - this is for our faster cyclists. Team Alpacas - this is for our improver cyclists Leisure cycles - come one come all! One off events - Mountain biking, sportives, hillwalking and social events
Credit is due to all members who make the effort to RSVP and attend at events hosted here - we have an absolutely amazing group of helpful and friendly members who are not afraid to take on any hills and just keep peddling! We offer encouragement and advice to all our members whatever your abilities and speed may be. Just get out there and join us.
It does not matter how slow we go as long as we don't stop moving.
All that aside, we are a sociable group and members are encouraged to cycle at their own pace and according to their own abilities at all times - so long as you don't lose the group by lagging too far behind, otherwise make sure you know the route! Of course there will be coffee stops or quick rests for those to catch back up.
Even though we look out for each other on the roads and practice safe cycling in a group - please bear in mind that everyone is responsible for his/her own health and safety always and a safe cycling etiquette is expected by all those who attend.
