What we're about

Hello there! We are a group of friendly people who meet every fortnight to improve our public speaking skills. Each of you are given the opportunity to speak at each event - either on a topic of your choice or the room can suggest a random topic to speak impromptu for 2mins. Join us every other Saturday at 3:45pm at the Accidental Theatre! 🎤🥔

Did you know that communication is 55% body language, 38% tone of voice and only 7% words? This means focusing on great delivery techniques will prepare you well for a speech. We will focus on a tip at each meetup but you are free to do your own research and practice what you have learned in our group. You too can be a great public speaker and get over your nerves if you regularly rehearse and get familiarised with the feeling of speaking in front of an audience.

Please feel free to join the group and come to any of our meetups. We welcome everyone regardless of experience level. If you are new and would like to overcome your public speaking fears, we would love to hear your stories and definitely won’t bite. This is a safe learning space. If you are experienced, why not challenge yourself with impromptu speaking?

There is no membership scheme, all meetups are drop-in and free of charge, with optional pay-what-you-can contribution towards venue hire and meetup costs. The only requirement is that we ask you to listen when others are speaking and kindly stick to the given time limits.

Any form of harrassment will not be tolerated. If any participant engages in an inappropriate behaviour, the meetup organisers may take any action they deem appropriate, including warning, asking the offender to leave or banning them from future meetups.
