Walking the Red Road Despacho

A despacho is an Andean ritual offering or a gift of reciprocity for what we receive every day in our lives. The act of creating a despacho places us in right relationship (ayni) with Mother Earth (Pachamama) and the Mountains (Apukuna). The offering consists of natural items intricately arranged on paper (similar to a Navajo Sand Painting), then prayed over, infused with gratitude and thanksgiving, and lastly folded into a bundle(like a present to the Creator and the Universe) to be burned. The creation of a despacho is a way to give back through prayer, intention, and love. This reciprocal exchange promotes balance and interdependence with Spirit. It is proper to purify one's self and consecrate the ground before preparing a despacho. Each natural item placed in the despacho has a specific meaning. The end result before folding into a bundle looks like a graphic mandala. When the bundle is burned, the prayers in the despacho ascend to the Spirits in the form of smoke. We meet under the four Sacred Trees in the first grassy area to the left as you enter the park. Park in the first lot and head back towards the highway.

Under the energies of Harvest Moon the Sacred Hoop community came together to heal, create, and connect to all. With grateful hearts we bid Aloha to the amazing woman who dreamed the vision for this tribe - knowing she is continuing an important piece of her journey along The Good Red Road. We will carry on with her spirit and passion present at every gathering of the Sacred Hoop, and meet up with her often in our personal journeys. A hui hou LaBryanna!
Enjoy another mystical trip around The Wheel.

Aloha all of our wonderful tribe. It seems my journey is taking me on new path and I will be leaving the islands. This despacho is an offering for the group to continue under the guidance of Spirit and the leadership of Krista and Ted. I will frequent the islands with periodic visit,s as some of my family will still be here. Additionally, when not here with physically, I will continue to connect with you energetically and will be at each gathering spiritually. Munay to all of you as you move forward in spiritual growth and sharing. May the light of Grandmother Moon and the Warmth of Grandfather Sun always grace your path and fill your days. See around the fire!
