Hello All,
This Thursday (tomorrow), August 22, from 7:00 to 8:30 P.M., the San Diego Debate Club will host a panel discussion to argue the proposition, “Should marijuana be legal in the United States?”  The debate will consist of two, four-person panels, one in favor of legalizing pot and one opposed, a moderator and a live audience.  It will be held from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Moose Lodge, 3636 Ruffin Road in San Diego (map).  The event will be broadcast on KNSJ 98.1 radio, is open to the public and will feature an audience participation segment.
The members of the panel supporting marijuana legalization include Donna Lambert of the San Diego chapter of NORML, the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Legislation, John Mattes, an Emmy award-winning investigative reporter and former U.S. Senate professional staff member and David Genser, a former analyst for Congress’ Government Accountability office.
The members of the panel opposing legalization are Aaron De Groot, a former President of the Uptown Democratic Club and a retired San Diego high school government teacher, Marilyn Lyons, a health law and policy specialist and John Stahl, a 2012 congressional candidate 952nd district and former KCBQ talk show host.
Everyone's welcome and we have audience participation.  You may raise your hand and a microphone will be brought to you.  You may address anyone on either of the panels.
The debate will be conducted in the Moose building at the back of the parking lot - not the cocktail lounge.
I hope to see you there.
Bill
