Hello all, you can read below about who we are and what we have done in the past, but during this crisis we are all struggling to keep the music going and most importantly to find safe ways to do it. Things are very different and as singing is known to be a significant spreader of the CoronaVirus, we will only plan things that keep us all safe, from singing in your own car, virtual events and special outdoor session when available.
These are not normal times and while we all share a deep love of music, we need to find ways to keep our community active and most importantly safe.
So no auditions to join, no expectation that you need to read music or can actually carry a tune. In many ways this is a social group with music. A way to express yourself with a song.
This group is for those among us that like to sing, in the shower, on the road, in line at the store and in their own head during meetings. If you ever hummed or sang long to Lion King, The Greatest Showman, Newsies, Schoolhouse Rock, Hamilton, the theme to the Beverly Hillbillies or quite frankly any music that touches you, then this might be the perfect place for you.
NO, you do not have to sing well. YES, you do have to enjoy singing.
Just about any kind of song will work, but here is the kicker, it would be nice if you were also interested in the possibility of performing in public. From spontaneous concerts in downtown San Jose, to caroling during the holidays and more. We will start with practice, individual songs to karaoke tracks and acapella group sing, to solos, duos and themed sing for special projects.
Be great to hear your voice, come join in the fun.
On the other hand, you may not want to sing, just yet. Perhaps you are a great audience and interested in hearing music from every conceivable genre sung, and you are only interested in humming along or tapping your toes - yes, you are most welcomed as well.
Sometime, someday, we hope you might be encouraged to sing along.
