---------- DEVIL'S DYKE & BRIGHTON ----------
Devil’s Dyke is the longest, deepest and widest dry valley in the UK, which legend says the Devil dug to drown the parishioners of the Weald. The painter John Constable described the panorama from Devil’s Dyke as 'the grandest view in the world'.

In the 17th & 18th centuries Brighton was the largest and important town in the county of Sussex, popular as a health resort with people flocking to the city to feel the energising effects of the sea and invigorating fresh air sweeping off the English Channel, and made fashionable by the patronage of the Prince Regent (later King George IV) who spent much of his leisure time there.

Brighton is now one of the most vibrant, colourful and creative cities in Europe, known for its stunning heritage of the Royal Pavilion, Regency architecture, Victorian aquariums, Brighton Pier, the remains of the West Pier, the world's oldest operating electric railway (the Volk's Electric Railway), the world’s oldest operating aquarium, the famous long pebble beach, and the maze of old town shopping lanes.
