- Have you ever considered becoming your own boss?
- Do you feel daunted by the prospect of starting your own business?
- Do you dream of starting your own business?
Millions of Americans share that dream, and yet, not everyone has the courage to get started.
Dreams are the essence of entrepreneurs. Think about Bill Gates, Richard Branson, Jeff Bezos, Walt Disney, Steve Jobs and so many more. They all started with a dream and all built multi-million dollar businesses. As Walt Disney said, “If you can dream it, you can do it. Always remember this whole thing was started by a dream and a mouse”.
- Small businesses represent 99.7% of all employer firms; 62% are home-based.
- Small businesses generate 60% of the private sector GDP (amount of goods & services produced in a year)
DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?
Ask Yourself:
What am I passionate about?
- Do I have specific skills, knowledge, or talents?
- How can I turn my passion into a profitable business?
- How can I discover my strengths and outsource my weaknesses?
In this online lecture, we will focus on what is required to have your own business and to be able to assess if you have the potential to be an entrepreneur. You will evaluate your skills, motivators, and learn what additional business skills you may need to acquire before you make the leap.
You will be able to recognize the benefits and liabilities of entrepreneurship. The event is based on lectures by Roger Kuperways, Ph.D. who has been a Senior Lecturer at NYU on top of being a business coach/consultant/mentor for more than 35 years, providing face-to-face mentoring to thousands.

COMMENTS FROM PAST EVENTS:
I very much enjoyed the lecture. I think you gave a very simple and clear overview of what one needs to do when venturing into a start-up. The side benefit, of course, is the input from those attending. You never know what unexpected tips you might get! Thank you for giving your time to do this. -- JB Manton
Loved it! Definitely appreciated all of the members' different insight on each other's ideas. Very informative class. Dr. Kuperways was engaging and funny, and I even came out of this workshop with a new venture idea :) -- Paloma Garcia
