The Snail Mail Revolution

You will find this post at the beginning of each month. If you're birthday falls in that month, simply leave a comment indicating as much. Then, everyone who would like to send you a birthday card will RSVP. Please understand that your card may arrive a little late or a little early for your big day depending on when it's sent, but think of it as celebrating your birthday month instead of just one day. :)

Each month The Birthday Club will open one month in advance to give you plenty of time to sign up. One the day of the event, I will send out the addresses of our "birthday celebrators" for that month to everyone who has RSVPed. The event will then be closed for any additional birthdays. This month we're celebrating July birthdays!

If you've commented that it's your birthday, please make sure I have your address so I can send it out to everyone. If you've RSVPed, please send your card out sometime during that month. That's it, my friends! We're just here celebrating each other, and we're gonna do all year! Woohoo!

Today is the official start of the USPS stamp increase. Outlined below are the new rates:

To help you along on your snail mail journey, this month's giveaway will be stamps! I'm not sure how many stamps, if they will be modern or vintage, but they will be at least 82 cents in value. Please RSVP to be entered to win. I will return on the day of this event to announce the winner. Good luck!

Another month of our series Random Acts of Stationery. Here's how it will work: if you RSVP to this event, you are eligible to be chosen as a recipient of a random act of stationery. That means happy mail will be sent to you by various other people. Depending on how many people RSVP, there may be multiple people chosen each month as recipients, but you will only send to one person each.

Your RAOS can include:

• a couple sheets of stationery
• a folded note card with envelope
• a flat card with envelope
• a postcard
• a writing instrument (pen, pencil, marker, etc.)
• a few stickers
• a sticker sheet
• washi sample
• decorative paperclip
• a couple sheets of themed scrapbook paper
• at least 82 cents worth of stamps
• feel free to send other stationery or stationery-adjacent items!

There is no minimum to send. Just send whatever fits in your envelope and put a stamp (or two) on it and away it goes! What will you receive if you are not chosen as a recipient this month? The feeling of satisfaction from the joy of giving. :)

Note: Please send your RAOS out by July 31, 2026.

In-Person Meetup deets below:

Where: This meetup is at Sulzer Regional Library, located at 4455 N Lincoln Ave in Chicago. We'll be meeting in the small meeting room.

When: Wednesday, July 22, 2026 from 5:30pm-7:30pm (no obligation to stay the whole time)

What to Bring: Stationery (cards or letter paper) to write on, pens/pencils/markers, stickers, washi, etc. to decorate cards and letters with, and feel free to bring items to share, if you would like.

If you do not have someone to write, feel free to bring other stationery-adjacent things to work on, like: decorating your planner, drawing, coloring, painting, paper crafting, etc. It's not mandatory to write letters to attend.

Note: RSVPs close 24 hours in advance. If you RSVP yes and do not show, you will be removed from the Snail Mail group for no-showing. Please change your RSVP to no, if necessary, to avoid this.
