This trip is also co-sponsored with the Sierra Club. We will hike from Buckhorn Trailhead to work on trail inside of San Gabriel Wilderness. Plan is to remove logs from trail and install wilderness signs. Hike will be about 6-8 miles round trip with 1000' gain going in and 600' on return.
No experience is necessary and we will provide tools, hard hats, gloves. This is a good opportunity to learn cross-cut saw skills. We emphasize technique rather than brute strength to clear downfalls. See how it is done.
Bring water, food. Forest Service requires us to wear long sleeves, pants, sturdy footwear (boots highly recommended) and eye protection (sunglasses OK). Check weather conditions for mountains (6000' to 7000') for proper clothing.
We have other people attending not listed on this meetup including regular members of our trail crew.
